Beautiful! Yorkshire is such a lovely county. Wonderful photos of the Whooper swans. I was fortunate to see a pair on a remote loch on Skye last year - so ethereal.
Yes I am an American but lived in England for 16 years. My wife is from North Yorkshire (Ampleforth-Helmsley) and we would visit her parents in Kirkbymoorside often while they were alive. We would also walk the moors as well as the dales. Lovely country and Northerners I found the easiest to get along with.
Ah - I used to spend a lot of time walking in the Moors around Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside, but tend to stick to more level ground these days (knee problems). I am glad you enjoyed your years here 😊

Thanks - yes, I absolutely love seeing them. After seeing them in Iceland I think they would look very much at home on Skye :-)
Iceland - amazing! I've never been. I would love to see a post about it, if that's something you'd like to share. Thank you!
Thanks so much. I have a long list of places to write about, and Iceland is definitely one of them!
Great post and wonderful photos. The remind me of a wetland near where I used to live in California about 7 years ago.
Thank you - wetlands are always wonderful places 😊
Very nice. I like the foggy swans photo the best. Unmistakably British landscape, wildlife, hay bales and a church in the back ground.
Thank you. We have been having a surprising number of bright winter days with lovely blue skies lately, but I am sure that will change.
It sounds as though you are familiar with Yorkshire landscapes?

Very interesting Angie accompanied by some lovely images.
Another reserve I have never visited.
Thank you
