Welcome to my Photo Essays!
Celebrating the beautiful nature, gardens and countryside all around us
Hi! I’m AngieDawn - a nature lover, keen hobby photographer and enthusiastic kitchen gardener. After being based in North Yorkshire, England, for over 30 years (and briefly in Cumbria), my partner Matt and I have recently moved to the countryside in north east Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Matt and I love exploring the beautiful nature and countryside all around us - especially places that are often overlooked. And I always have my camera to hand.
Wetlands, woodlands, gardens and quiet coastal locations are among my favourite habitats - the places where I feel most at home. Here I will introduce you to many of the beautiful parks, gardens, nature reserves and countryside locations we love to visit around our home and further afield.
I am also a keen kitchen gardener.
The huge garden was the main reason we chose our new home. I am so looking forward to identifying and documenting the plants that grow here and the wildlife that visits. And I will write about the process of transforming a large area of grass into a (hopefully) productive orchard and kitchen garden.
And of course, there will be so many wonderful new places to discover and share around our new home!
Whether you are a fellow nature lover or gardener, familiar with the places I write about, or merely an armchair traveller, I do hope you will join me on this latest journey of discovery. And please do leave comments - it is always lovely to hear your thoughts!
